Binance: How to register and activate Two-factor Authentication (2FA)

Welcome, Trader! This guide will help you to create a new account and enable Two-factor Authentication (2FA) on Binance. The process is easy and straightforward. You will need a PC and a smartphone with Google Authenticator for this. The guide will also tell you how to enable 2FA if you don’t have a smartphone. Let’s get started.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome web browser. All the data security specialists recommend Google Chrome because it’s the fastest and the most secure web browser right now. You can also use Opera or FireFox but only Chrome will provide you with the best protection. If you don’t use Chrome, we recommend you to start using it.

Step 2: Visit Binance Exchange using the link below. This is a referral link and you can use it to support this website.

Create a New Account

We recommend you to bookmark the official Binance website after you click the link. It’s a good idea to open the website from bookmarks later on to avoid fishing.

Right now the official website has 15 different languages to choose from. It usually detects the language automatically, but you can always change it in the top menu.

Pay attention: Not all the countries are allowed to use the exchange. If your country is blacklisted you may experience problems with loading the website. You need to use a VPN in this case. We have a detailed guide on how to use a VPN with Binance. Read the guide to find out about all the pros and cons of using Virtual Private Network and about the best VPN services available right now.

Step 3: Fill the form with the required data and click “Create Account”.

Binance registration

We recommend using the Gmail address for your account just because it is the best and the most secure e-mail provider in the world.

You will also be asked to fill the password. The password must contain at least 8 characters and must include uppercase letters and numbers. These requirements ate standard for a strong password. Use Latin letters and numbers only.

Step 4: Open your e-mail and click the link in the confirmation e-mail. This will activate your account and you can finally log in.

Enabling 2FA

Your account is now ready, but you can’t use it for trading because it’s not 100% secured. You need to activate Two-factor Authentication for better protection. This is an important step and you can’t skip it! The exchange will not let you trade without an active 2FA.

Step 1: Download and install the Google Authenticator application to your smartphone. This application can be found in App Store or in Play Market. It’s a very popular application so you will not have any problems finding it.

If you don’t have a smartphone, you can download and install a smartphone emulator. It’s a special program that allows using iOS or Android operation systems on your computer. This isn’t the best idea, but you can use it if you don’t have a choice. You can find many iOS or Android emulators in Google. Here are the best of them:

iOS (iPhone) Android
  • MobiOne Studio
  • SmartFace
  • Android Studio
  • ARChon
  • Bliss

If you don’t want to install a separate emulator, you can use a special Google Chrome authenticator Extension. This extension works as an application.

Remember: Using a smartphone is much safer just because it’s a separate device! We recommend using a smartphone if possible.

Step 2: Open Binance and scan the offered QR code with Google Authenticator app. The application will show you an activation code.

Step 3: Enter this code in a special field.

Now your account is ready for trading. Every time you log in or make a withdrawal, the exchange will ask you for 2FA code from the Google Authenticator app. This is a very good feature to protect your funds!

After the 2FA is configured you can make a crypto currency deposit. If you are new to the exchange we recommend following our Binance Deposit Guide. This will help you to avoid difficulties and mistakes.
